This app was developed independently of the MIT Scratch Team, which produces the Scratch programming language and online community. The Scratch name and Scratch cat are trademarks of MIT.
"Scratch 2 games" offers an extensive collection of video tutorials to help you create your own games using the new web-based version of Scratch. These tutorials are not your typical online tutorials. Each video presents tasks for you to complete in Scratch, with the following video demonstrating how to accomplish the task.
In this new version of Scratch, you will learn how to build three different games. Take a nostalgic trip back to retro games with "Frogger" and "Breakout," and discover a guide on creating your own two-player "top-down racer" game.
The app even features a quiz so you can test your knowledge of Scratch!
Scratch is truly an excellent platform for learning programming and coding, and this app serves as a valuable resource to help you get started.
Please note that this is a large app, with a file size of just under 300MB. Therefore, it is recommended that you have a stable WiFi connection before downloading. Additionally, it is suggested that you set up a Scratch account prior to accessing the tutorial videos.
Attention, teachers: This app allows children to use their iPads alongside computers to create games in Scratch, providing a convenient way for them to learn without requiring additional planning on your part. Furthermore, the abundance of material in this app will keep your students engaged for approximately six hours, even if they don't have time to explore the extension tasks provided for each of the three games!
